In-site menu and logo links go through Next client-side routing, after which the hero Locations button and Order Now stop responding (their handlers bind only on first load). This forces a normal full page load for links to another page, except location links on the home layout, which the existing location script handles in place. The Gift Cards/Join Our Team/FAQ dropdown panel's white background can't be overridden via normal CSS (confirmed even an ID-selector !important rule had no effect, likely due to a persistent platform re-assertion). This inserts a fresh, never-before-seen overlay div behind the panel's content with a custom gradient, and keeps re-applying it via MutationObserver since the panel can re-render.

Since navigation between pages here is a genuine full page reload (confirmed via performance.navigation.type==='navigate'), this opts into the browser-native Cross-Document View Transitions API, which gives an automatic smooth cross-fade between the old and new page instead of an instant jarring cut. Pure progressive enhancement: browsers without support just keep the normal instant navigation, no errors, no fallback code needed. (Reverted from a custom slide/fade + frozen-header version that added ~500ms of deliberate animation to every navigation, flagged during a performance audit as unnecessary overhead.)

Two mobile hamburger menu fixes: (1) hash-anchor nav items (Menu/Locations/Gallery/Contact - anything routing via #hash rather than a real page) were getting the platform-own active-page highlight color whenever the URL hash happened to match them, even though they are not actual pages - this strips that active class from any anchor-hash link while leaving real page routes (Home/Blog/Catering) untouched. (2) the mobile menu overlay does not lock body scroll when open, so the underlying page (which is much taller than the viewport) still shows its native scrollbar overlapping the menu - this locks body scroll while the side-menu checkbox is checked.

Handles same-page hash links (Menu/Gallery/Contact/etc). On a fresh page load with a recognized hash: waits 1 second, then, right before scrolling, neutralizes any leftover native transition wrapper - removes its black background-color (without hiding it, since it also wraps the real page content) and hides the separate loader graphic element entirely (safe, contains no real content) - preventing that leftover black background from visibly riding along when we scroll the page. Then does one smooth animated scroll down to the target section.

Since the location dropdown links (.home-hero-loc-item, .home-mob-loc-item, .lga-dd-item) are plain anchors rather than Next.js Link components, they don't get automatic Next prefetching. This adds a <link rel=prefetch> for a location page's path the moment it's hovered/focused/touched, so the destination page (including its hero video) is warm in cache by the time it's actually clicked.
